Celebrity News
Stormy Daniels was arrested from a strip club in Ohio for touching patrons. She was released and all charges were dropped because she was not a regular employee, and was only doing a two-night stent at the strip club. The patrons in question were undercover detectives, and the bail posted was allegedly just over $6,000. According to Ohio law, any employee that regularly appears naked or nearly naked cannot touch patrons other than family. I honestly feel like this whole situation is unfortunate, but I am glad that it resolved itself.
Black Misfortune
Unfortunately, there are a couple of items to say about this topic this week. First up, Black Lives Matter has recently turned 5 years old. The movement began on July 13, 2013 following the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the death of Trayvon Martin. For the past 5 years, the movement has been fighting for black lives that are treated unfairly. For five years, many people have opposed the movement questioning why all lives do not matter and why we need to draw attention to black lives. Well, the following two stories are great examples of why. However, this doesn’t even scratch the surface of what’s going on in America today.
In Indianapolis, IN an apartment complex manager kicked a resident out of the pool area. The apartment complex had a locked pool area accessible only to residents. A black resident was enjoying the pool area, and after being questioned the police were called. The police sided with the resident rather than the apartment manager. That complex manager was suspended. The resident did state that not a lot of black people live in the area. Even so, why is the assumption for black folks that they are in the wrong? Why make decisions before listening?
A bus driver in Massachusetts was fired for driving past a black passenger. The bus was allegedly full, but the would-be passenger took an Uber to catch up with the bus and question the bus driver. Once pressed, the bus driver admitted that it was because he was black. But all lives matter and racism is dead. Yeah, okay.
World News
By now I am sure you’ve heard the news about the Thai soccer players and their coach who got stuck in a cave. They have successfully been rescued and transported to a hospital where all are expected to make a full recovery. They are also scheduled for their first press conference is scheduled for Wednesday. Unfortunately, one of the divers, a former Navy Seal, on the rescue mission lost his life, so thoughts and prayers out to him.
Donald Trump has met with Vladmir Putin, in public and in private, in Helsinki, Finland. Honestly, this is all I’m going to say about this topic because I cannot get through any article on this topic. It sounds like a clusterf*ck.
