It’s the final countdown

December We made it!!

This month has actually been fairly uneventful as far as I am concerned. I haven’t had any high highs or low lows. December is always wonderful for somebody in school because things speed up, and then slow down really quickly. It’s great- I feel like I have so mcuh extra free time on my hands because I do. I get to spend time at home with my family and really enjoy it, rather than worrying about what I am going to do when I get back to work. It’s the only time of the year when I get to just sit back and take it all in without distractions.

I noticed that Hannukah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa all actually coincide this year and I do not think there was a better year for this. Worldwide, there is a ton of intolerance and hatred. In our own backyard (America in this case). Just knowing that everybody else is out (or in) celebrating on the same day is beautiful. I say everybody fully aware that this does not, in fact, encompass everybody. However, the mindset that it puts us in for celebrations and thankfulness is very powerful. Judaism, Christinaity and those that honor Kwanzaa are worldwide. Although people in other parts of the world may celebrate at a different physical time, the feelings and the meanings are the same everywhere. It is a sense of unity that does not occur all of the time, and lately it seems to be occurring more and more infrequently.

I could go on for days with this post, but since we are on day 12 of 13 and this is already one of the longer posts I will spare you for another time. Just remember to laugh and love and show your support for people of all races, genders, religions, etc.
